Help installing LIBSAFE or like product


I need some advice and instructions on how to instll libsafe or a similar prodcut on my server.

I have the following configuration:

GeneralCPU GenuineIntel, Intel(R) Celeron(R) CPU 2.00GHz
Version psa v8.1.1_build81070423.15 os_FedoraCore 4
OS Linux 2.6.16-rc6-060427a

Running FC4, you already have the protection you'd get from libsafe (plus additional security features).

As FC5 has just gone to end of life, I'd suggest upgrading to FC6 (if you need a stable version). As an added benefit, going from FC4->FC6 you get "all packages compiled with stack smashing protection" and "pointer encryption".

Thanks,

I have FC 4 right now and the only other option I have avaliable is SUSE 9.3 will it will it be wise to switch to SUSE?

Novell doesn't list much in the way of SUSE security, even on the latest version.
