Question Headless server Mandrake 9.1 upgrade

I have a server buried deep in the closet running Mandrake 9.1. There don't seem to be many updates around for it anymore (like the time zone thingy)?

What's the least painful way to update it to something modern, given the lack of a screen and a cd-rom drive?

Thanks!

Upgrade another machine, and swap the hard drive. That also gives you a back-out plan.

Thanks for responding. A worthy idea, but it involves digging out the server. A lot of pain. If I do that, I might as well pop in a new one - iron is cheap these days.

Isn't there a way, he asked pleadingly, to upgrade it in place, over the wire?

Thanks!
