Hi,

HA and a single physical machine don't go together....... You need failover possibilities in case the hardware (whatever piece) fails. You need to have everything double (or more) to set this up.

Is this 'just' an exercise or do you need this for a real environment?

Hi again,

Here are some articles that cover this area:

The High Availability Linux Project
Linux High Availability HOWTO
A High-Availability Cluster for Linux

I don't know if you have access to Red Hat, but they also have HA solutions for linux.

Virtual servers can be used to obtain HA, here's an article by IBM (Xen based): Deliver high availability with a Xen virtual server

Hope this helps.

Thanks for quick reply...

In my case, I followed http://www.howtoforge.com/high-avail...erfs-on-ubuntu

But I could not find the solution. Any suggestion?
