GIT Version Control System

I'm new to linux and I am trying to set up a GIT Version Control System as a server on a CentOS 5.2 system and run agents on multiple windows xp systems that would report back to git. I have GIT installed on centos and i have the GIT bash on windows but i'm not sure where to start as far as setting up my centos system to act as a server to the windows boxes. Can anyone help me get started?
