There is monitoring software available, and also logs you can enable. What OS is the server, and what do you want to monitor. Web, SMTP, ...?

This isn't an emergency for anyone here...we volunteer our time, and answer when we want to. If you need 24/7 support, pay RedHat or Novell for it.

What version/distro of Linux?? You provide zero details of the system, and what you're wanting, aside from a very basic problem description. Doing a "who -u" will give you the IP address and pseudo terminal they're connected to. History will only be written after everyone logs off. Since you don't say what you're looking for, where, why, and what logging/auditing software you have installed, we can't tell you more.
