FTP symlinks

When I make a symbolic link in my ftp folder (which is /home/ftp for some reason) it does not let me change to that directory. It gives me error 550. Permission is set to 777, so it should not give me a problem. Is there a reason that vsftp will not accept symlinks or is this a configuration error?

Read the 2nd Q/A of the FAQ to see why vsftpd does not follow symlinks.
You can use mount -bind instead:
Code:
mount -bind /path/to/somefolder /home/ftp/somefolder
