FTP Server and Linux MCE on same computer

Hi I'm kind of new to Linux. I have a question.

I'm trying to set up an FTP server, but I don't think I want a computer as a dedicated server. I was thinking of using a program like Filezilla Server perhaps. I am also trying to get my Linux MCE box running. So I was wondering if I could have both on the same machine. I'm not sure how Linux MCE works, but for what I understand it's not an OS, but just a program. I have already installed Kubuntu on one of my machines. So basically my questions is:
Can I run both Linux MCE and Filezilla Server on my Kubuntu machine at the same time? That way I can have all my media on that machine and access it remotely while I'm using LinuxMCE. Any of you know if this is possible?

Thanks in advance.

FTP / LinuxMCE

In case others are looking for an answer to this, the short answer is yes you can. LinuxMCE can be set up as a front end application. If you have a very powerful PC and/or server, then there should be no reason why you cannot have multiple services running at the same time LinuxMCE is running. However, the documentation for LinuxMCE recommends using a pc/server as a standalone unit and you will probably have better luck that way. As for file transfer, ftp is nice if you want to allow others to connect to your file system, but I would recommend ssh/scp for accessing files remotely.
