Force shutdown

I need to force a shutdown.

It seems I have lost an array and now the system refuses to shutdown.

Code:
echo o > /proc/sysrq-trigger
gives the warning but no dice.

reboot -f = nothing.

Any other ideas?

On debian, having proper ACPI-related stuff installed, when nothing else works, often I can just press and release immetelly the power button, that the system will manage to kill whatever mess I've made and go for a clean shutdown...

nevermind, this is probably stupid
