fetchmail SMTP error in qmail


Hello LQ user,

iam using centos 5.4 qmail server.
it have fetchmail script for fetching mail POP and SMTP.
recently i have taken new internet connection with static ip.
After switching to this internet my fetchmail gives smtp error.

fetchmail: SMTP transaction error while fetching from test@domain.com@mail.domain.com and delivering to SMTP host localhost

fetchmail: smtp listener protocol error

i am not able to sendmail which pop is working.

While in present internet connection every thing is working fine.

I google alot but i didnot found solution.
Could anyone knows solution of this issue...

That is not a valid email address - you have @ in it twice.

my qmail server is using 25 port for sending mail.
But the new ISP uses 587 port. how could i change port from 25 to 587

You have to modify your .fetchmailrc.

Have a look at this link:

fetchmail does allow you to specify port with --port flag. Type "man fetchmail" to see more details.
