Fetchmail and syncronization

Hello, I use imap for viewing mail in several computer and on my iPhone and I use fetchmail for doing backup of my e-mail accounts, for me is really a mess that fetchmail marks read all my messages every time it syncronies my accounts, is possible to fetch messages without marking them as read? I need this for for first-time syncronization too, but I do not want all unread messages to be mark as read. I use "fetchall" and "keep" options the first time I syncronize an account (no flush should be the default behavior, but all messages become read and if I mark them as unread again fetchmail downloads them another time.

Thanks, Elerdin.
