extracting a partition from existing partition

HI,
I have one server of linux, and /var partition have size 200 GB, now i want to cut some gb partition size from /var partition and want to mount in another directory, As we in Windows use with Partition magic.

How it's possible in linux ? what step i will follow in linux ?

You can use gparted to resize the partition.

Hi Pratik,

Yes that is exactly what I told you, you can do it with the help of gparted software
