Exim4 for multiple domains - some problems

Dear Forum members,

I have set up Exim4 on my server, and its ready to accept mails from more than one domains, and it works. As I have only one server and IP, I have Zoneedit for DNS records.

All my domains are pointed to my server with

domain.com
mail.domain.com
www.domain.com

And all these records are pointing to my only Real IP. I use the /etc/exim4/virtual/domain.com file to point the virtual email aliases to real users.

Firstly, is there any way to have an email address which can be picked up through pop3 and has no real user on the system?

Secondly I cannot pick up mail with POP3 or IMAP on my virtual domains, just on the real domain, through mail.domainA.com but with mail.domainB.com I cannot. If for address@domainB.com I use POP3 server mail.domainA.com, it works, but I dont want to cross-use the domains.

The truth of the matter is that I am coming away from my webhost, and I have family overseas who I provide access for, and their Outlook Express is already configured, and it would be difficult to reconfigure it without visiting them.

Thanks for any pointers on these questions,

Ben

p.s. My /etc/exim4/update-exim4.conf.conf looks like this:

server:/home/bfrank# less /etc/exim4/update-exim4.conf.conf
#
# update-exim4.conf uses this file to determine variable values to replace
# the DEBCONFsomethingDEBCONF strings in the configuration template files.
#
# Most settings found in here do have corresponding questions in the
# Debconf configuration, but not all of them.
#
# This is a Debian specific file

dc_eximconfig_configtype='internet'
dc_other_hostnames='mail.domainA.com:mail.domainB.com'
dc_localdelivery='maildir_home'
dc_local_interfaces='192.168.0.2'
dc_readhost=''
dc_relay_domains='mail.domainA.com:mail.domainB.com'
dc_minimaldns='false'
dc_relay_nets='192.168.0.0/24'
dc_smarthost=''

dc_use_split_config='true'

Hi

Maybe I didnt ask this question clearly, sorry for that.

Basically what I am looking for is the following:

One server handling more than one domain. I have the Apache part covered, and it works like a charm. Now I would like to have Mail for all domains, and I would like to have all domain to have their own unique SMTP and POP3 names. For domainA.com let it be mail.domainA.com etc.

So a user of mine who has an address.domainA.com would use mail.domainA.com for POP3 and SMTP servers in Outlook or whatever they use.

How can this be done on a Debian box running Eximn4 and Courier POP?

Thanks

Ben

Can someone give me a pointer at least? I am sure I am not the only person having multiple domains on a single Linux box.

Thanks

Ben
