Emailing Postmaster (postfix)

I am wondering when an email is sent to postmaster@yourdomain.com, does postfix attempt to run the message against any kind of parameters like header_checks or anything in your main.cf?

I get tons and tons of spam to postmaster and I was wondering if there is any way to stop this?

postmaster is usually a default alias that is setup in the default aliases file found in /etc/alias or /etc/mail/alias unless you specified a different one with postfix. Also to my knowledge, if it's a direct email to postmaster, I believe this is illegal as most use this address for returned emails, not for direct emails.
