I don't know that there's necessarily an "easiest" distro, but one that might take some of the initial pain out of learning the command line would be CentOS. For simplicity's sake, it's essentially Red Hat Enterprise Linux minus the Red Hat trademarks. The installation is all graphical, it has multiple graphical configuration tools, and it's quite a stable operating system. There's a really good community behind CentOS and you can't beat the price for the software (free!), so I'd recommend checking it out!

Hope that helps!
