what you're asking for is not a "DNS server" but a large array of different services interoperating with each other. And you want us to tell you how to do all of it? break it down into parts. for DNS, read the bind howto. for the domain stuff read the relevant parts of the Samba howto, mayby buy a decent 800 page book on the subject. as for internet access, you need to define what you mean there. i bet you don't mean the internet at all, but the web, which is a different thing and would be served by a proxy, not a gateway / router.

Brilliant: Are you saying that your networking details and your requirements are exactly the same as the OP? (In which case, the advice given to the OP would probably apply and there would be no need for this post.)

Or are we supposed to guess what they are?

If you requirements are different, you would have probably been better advised to start a new thread in which you discuss exactly these requirements. Also note that if you do this, it is conventional to explicitly ask a question (you know, Linux Questions....there's a hint in the name) as opposed to making a statement and hoping that people will infer a question from that; otherwise the observation "Good for you, I'm sure that you will learn things" would be apposite.

Also it is worthwhile to give a little background; if you state why you are doing this - what you hope to achieve - you will find that people are more able to offer advice as to whether what you propose as a course of action is a way of achieving your ends.

<Edit> my (very slight) apologies; here http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...-rhel5-727244/ is a post where you do give at least a detail of your set-up. The main reason that I should have mentioned about this hijack is that its a cross-post, rather than that it has insufficient detail.
