My name servers are not working. I have clean-installed Centos 6.0 several times now. DNS can never work. Finally I decided to host my web sites anyway and use godaddy name server. Unfortunately, my mail server does not work with those name servers.
My only good option is to make dns server work on my machine, but now yum is not working wither. It used to work fine. I got the following error:
"CRITICAL:yum.cli:Config Error: Error accessing file for config file:///etc/yum.conf"
If I could get some help, I would really appreciate it!
Thank you
What error you are pasting here, it looks yum error. you might trying to install named package or configure yum .
you can install named rpm thorugh web and make the configuration file as well as database (zone) file.
you can knock the google for more details.
I am hoping there is something special about Google name servers. You do realize that each network works with its own DNS. Right now I'm using my registrar's nameservers, but mx records are not working. I assume it is because emails are created locally (in my directadmin hosting panel) while the server recognizes only the network dns. If Google dns will make my mail accounts work, i will gladly use it. Any take on that?
Another issue is that I I cannot just use Google's DNS IPs; I also need name servers (ns.domain.com...). How do I get those? ANy help will be appreciated.
Thank you

Can you elaborate the part of help you are asking for
is it DNS or yum
as you said that you are going for godaddy so where do you want someone to help?
yum or dns configuration or dns installation?
As you know yum is necessary for the install command in centos. That's the only reason why I mentioned it. But y problem is DNS!!! My name servers are not working. That's why I used godaddy's name servers only as a temporary solution for my web sites till I get my DNS fixed.
Thank you
