DNS problem

hello everybody !

i have a configured dns that worked properly for 2,5 years, suddenly yesterday it stop working i use a proxy, when i stoped the prxy and use another dns things became good, is it cause of the cache ??
and if it how can i empty it

Can you provide the layout/design of the implemented DNS ? Are you referring about DNS resolution inside the network or outside ?

inside the network i configured it, it works now after i restart nscd but slow ... how to increase speed
