DNS client shows connection time out

Hi friends

I've configured DNS server on CentOS6.4, IP: 192.168.0.254 on eth0 & DNS client on RHEL5.6 IP: 192.168.0.18 on eth0 on ESXi5.1.0 both VMs have two ethernet adapters each.

when i am dgging from DNS server itself
#dig example.com

its pinging to the DNS client with its hostname & FQDN from my DNS server.

when i am trying from DNS client to dig

#dig example.com

the DNS client can ping to DNS server with the IP but can't ping with hostname or FQDN.

my /etc/resolv.conf file on DNS client:
;generated by /sbin/dhclient-script
search example.com
nameserver 192.168.0.254

on DNS server /etc/named.conf

thanks!

Noticed you didn't fully describe any issue, and you marked this as solved. Could you share better information about this with us?
