Different users - 1 perl script

Hi

here is my question

I have a perscript wich i execute under FREEBSD
it update pages on all kinda different websites

I log in as 1 user en execute the perlscript than all
websites are updated.

This is the dir structure under FREEBSD

/usr/local/apache/sites/www.1domein.c/htdocs
/usr/local/apache/sites/www.2domein.c/htdocs
/usr/local/apache/sites/www.3domein.c/htdocs
/usr/local/apache/sites/www.4domein.c/htdocs
/usr/local/apache/sites/www.5domein.c/htdocs
/usr/local/apache/sites/www.6domein.c/htdocs
/usr/local/apache/sites/www.7domein.c/htdocs
etc
etc
i put c instead of com as this is our first post in here
and we can do full url howver c = com

My problem is under RH

Website1 /home/user1/public_html
Website2 /home/user2/public_html
Website3 /home/user3/public_html

all different websites
all different users

i want to have same as under freebsd 1 User who can excute perlscript and so all other websites are updated also
even they have a different owner as the server is setup

1 user - 1 domain

maybe even more easier it is hosted at godaddy maybe that helps also
the support guy told they could not do it howver i am sure it must possible

hope someone can hel pon this topic

Thx in advance

kind regards

Damian

I'm not clear on this: are all of your websites currently hosted at godaddy?

I don't host my sites under godaddy but yes, this is completely possible and not hard to achieve. What was their reasoning saying that this is impossible? They probably just don't know how to do it.

It sounds like what you want is godaddy's deluxe linux hosting plan. With that plan, you have one primary domain and multiple add-on domains. Each add-on domain looks like its own website on the net but has as its webroot an immediate subdirectory under the public_html directory of the primary domain, which is the webroot for the primary domain.

If you hosted this yourself with apache, then I could help you. But, since you doing this under godaddy, I can't help you there.
