did not issue MAIL/EXPN/VRFY/ETRN during connection to MTA


Hi
when i try to sendmail of my linux box centos 6.2 distro .Im facing out the following error .Any help regarding these issue

tail -f /var/log/maillog

endmail[5038]: q429cDOd005038: localhost.localdomain [127.0.0.1] did not issue MAIL/EXPN/VRFY/ETRN during connection to MTA
May 2 05:49:32 sendmail[5215]: q429nL9u005215: localhost.localdomain [127.0.0.1] did not issue MAIL/EXPN/VRFY/ETRN during connection to MTA

There can be more than one reason. A Google search for the error brings up lots, but they mostly center around either having the port blocked by firewall(s) internally, your ISP (externally), or through bad authentication (either wrong method or wrong credentials). You don't tell us anything about your environment, so it's hard to say.

Your port may be blocked at ISP level, which is not unusual. To get around it, try:

iptables -t nat -I PREROUTING -p tcp --dport 587 -j REDIRECT --to-ports 25
Then try accessing SMTP via port 587.

You can also try going into account settings for your outgoing SMTP mailbox,and unticking the 'Use name and password' box and/or the "Use secure authentication" box.
