debug/release mode in rpm building

i want to implement following configuration during RPM building.
The Debug or Release Boolean should be an Parameter in the globals Parameter List in the Build Tree.
Each RPM should have a Debug and Release Section to handle different configurations

can anyone provide how to start or how to implement this.
thanks in advance

Could you please write down things in your own words instead of copying in the text from your assignment? And could you post any (pseudo-)code to show you've tried researching and coding something yourself at all?

during RPM building,
it has to set debug/release mode depending on the parameter set in the global parameter list of the build tree.

what is global parameterlist in build tree?

how can i modify the global parameterlist?

I think I know the build process pretty well and I have never had to use the "global parameter list" or would have any idea what it is. You can influence the build process by %defining checks and codeblocks in the .spec file and then supplying the build process with --define= arguments. So what is this about? Homework or work? If you didn't read the default "Maximum RPM" on-line book yet, you should, it will help you understand the basics.
