Debian Image Does Not Boot After Mondorestore

Greetings! This is my first LinuxQuestions.org post (very exciting). Anyway, I've just restored a Debian image (kernel 2.2) from a Mondoarchive backup. The original image had RAID1 config via MDADM. My new image was restored without the RAID config to HDx rather than MDx device(s). Hard drive has 3 partitions... HDC1=/boot, HDC2=/swap, & HDC3=/. I've edited FSTAB and LILO.conf and can successfully run "lilo" but OS refuses to boot. I've tried to write MBR code via TestDisk w/ no avail. How do I get my Debian image to start?

Regards, Edog

What error message do you get when you try to boot?

What OS did you run lilo on?

jailbait, first off... thanks for the reply. I don't actually get an error msg specific to the OS but only the common "Boot device not found..." error. Sorry, I failed to mention that I booted into Knoppix Live CD then mounted/"chrooted" into the restored Debian OS image to run lilo. --edog
