Debian 8 ejabberd webadmin

Good day,
I have a strange problem. Not being able to access the the ejabbered web admin in Debain 8.

Scenario:
- Setting up a home VM server wanting to use archipel and first thing is to install ejabbered
- Server is a headless server
- Installed ejabberd from Debain 8 repo
-- I am using jessie-backports to install ejabberd 16 with ejabberd-contrib
-- Every thing looks like it installed ok
-- I update the ejabbered.yml hosts and add "servername"
-- I update the ejabbered.yml acl and add ""admin": "servername""
-- Then I restart ejabbered and add the admin user
-- Then I do ejabberedctl status and it is running running on servername
-- Now I try to log into the webadmin from my laptop on the local netowrk http://servername:5280/admin I get a 404 error
-- When I ssh into the server and try to login with lynx localhost:5280/admin i get a 404 error

The kicker of all this is when i dpkg -i the package I download from ejabberd.im website there is no problem and I am able to access both ways. Does any one know what step I am missing for a debian 8 install to get web admin to work?

Thanks for your time

Found the answer:
Debian 8 ejabberd is by default configured to run over https so hence the address to access the webadmin is https://servername:5280/admin
