Data recovery ext3
Hello to you my friends,
Yesterday evening I made something unexcusable. I worked with a server when I was sleepy. I mounted a harddrive in knoppix because I was going to reset root passwd. (SUSE machine so the single user needs password, in other words no other way that I know of) I accidentally mounted the wrong drive and when I discovered it I thought: No problem just rm -rf /media/*mounted_drive*. Half a second later I realised what I had done. CTRL-C but it was to late. The server is running 3 disks in a raid 5. Either I need a bootable software that can recover lost files and folders in the same order they was when I removed them or I need a cloning tool that can clone the raid5 to a single drive that I can plug into my windows machine and then run "Stellar Phoenix Linux Recovery* and perhaps that way solve my problem. Yeeees the filesystem is ext3. Nooooo I don't have backups (stupid of me I knoooow). Does anyone of you guys and gals =) have a solution to my problem? I tried with clonezilla to clone it to a USB drive. Didn't work at all. Best regards Johan |
I don't know if they work on RAID drives but partimage and ddrescue are powerful tools which I have used in the past to recover data from even unmountable drives.
Hoping you have a good outcome! |
