data recovery


hi to all
i have lost the data of my drive having file sysem ext3, please tell me the most reliable softwares for data recovery, please try to tell also GUI software.

I don't know any gui software, but I frequently do the following:
1) Take a dd image of the drive and do all work on that image
2) Use testdisk to try to repair the partition table of the image - if it works you can just mount the drive and get your files
3) Use photorec and foremost to recover what I can get

Note that I only do this on personal systems where the party is unwilling to pay for a professional service. There are some really good professional services out there, but usually it will cost US$500 or more.
