DansGuardian fails to start

Hi There,,,

Can somebody please help...Every morning, i have a problem with the internet. When i check netstat -pantu then the DansGuardian service is not started. I then have to start it manually and then everything works perfect. It only happens occasionally.

Does it happen every morning or only occasionally?

I take it that this isn't just after a reboot?

First thing to do is to search you logs for any references to dansguardian. Maybe the dansguardian log, but others as well.

What distro do you use?

Edit

Sorry - try

grep dansguardian /var/log/*

or adjust location accordingly

Did you try grep? You may want to search for ansgardian rather than dansguardian (in case it uses a capital D)

This is what i receive when doing a grep, but these logs are in Aug.

[root@standard:~] grep ansguardian /var/log/*
/var/log/user.log.0:Aug 27 08:39:22 localhost dansguardian: Error connecting to proxy
/var/log/user.log.0:Aug 27 08:39:54 localhost dansguardian: Error connecting to proxy
