CVS with Powerbuilder Support

Hello all,

I am working for a developers company, and theyve asked me to install a cvs server that supports powerbuilder 10...

I got to tell ya I dont even know where to start, I have no idea what powerbuilder is, a CVS maybe, but have not done such thing...

Could anyone please point me in the right direction, like a set up howto CVS server and client or something... Ive been looking on google a lot, and I get cvsnt and some other stuff but nothing that I have found points clearly to what I want to do.

Thank you all for your help!

Set up a standard CVS server

There is nothing special about the the CVS server you use. You can use CVSNT or a unix/linux based one. Set it up as you would any CVS server, there is nothing Powerbuilder specific.

You will need however, a plugin that allows Powerbuilder to work with it. Each developer will have to install this on their machine. I am currently evaluating CVS SCC Proxy by PuskOk software for my own company with Powerbuilder 10.5. So far it's working great.

Note that the version you need to download depends on what type of CVS server you are using. There are details on that page. I also found the following page which lists some settings for the PushOK plugin that are required for it to work with Powerbuilder.

Good luck.
