Question creating a sychronized suse server with windows server with ldap samba

This is a really long and complicated question. I was asked while studying not long ago to do this but it never worked. I just wanted to know if anybody has any success with doing this. I have tried numerous times to create this set up and there are so many guides that don't work out. I'm just wondering if there is someone out there who has a working config and could give me a heads up or link me to a guide that works. At the moment I have suse 10.3 and windows server 2003.

Cheers,

Charlotte
