What do you mean with Email IDs? So people can send you email at username@at.your.domain?

If thats the case create an MX record. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MX_record

So you want something to actually receive your mails?

Depending on your distribution you would use sendmail, exim or postfix (maybe some other) to send and receive mails. Look for something like an MTA.
To have your user read their mail you would use something like dovecot. Also there might be some other on your distribution. Look for services that serve POP3 or IMAP.

I have configured server with postfix and mails are send via telnet. But I haven't created the email IDs under this domain. So instead of using telnet to send mail, is there a way I can send emails by just dropping a txt file in some folder and mails get send automatically?

Create a script that gets a listing of this directory then use something like this

Quote:
mail -s "the subject" the.address@tosend.to < filename
Then have that script run every minute from cron.
