courier-imap incomplete mail
 

Hi.

I'm running a small server hosting a few domains.
It's running fedora core 3 with qmailrocks mailserver, that is qmail+vpopmail+maildrop+courier, all mail related software updated to newest version two weeks ago and courier compiled with --enable-workarounds-for-imap-client-bugs.

Now I have a strange problem, when accessing mail with some Imap client users sometime get incomplete messages, only showing the header or sometimes parts of the main body text. This seems to be only affecting messages with attachments and depending on which client is receiving it is dependent on which client sent the mail, f.ex. I only found messages sent with x-mailer = outlook to give problems in thunderbird.

I've tested this with Kmail, evolution and thunderbird on linux and Thunderbird 1.5 + 2.0 and Outlook 2000 on windows. I have only found Outlook and Thunderbird 2.0 on windows to have this problem.

I know Imap is one ugly beast of a standard and this is probably just a matter of different pieces of software each with it's own understanding of what is correct behaviour, but that is not an acceptable answer to my client that they just have to switch over from Outlook 2003 to KMail.

So if you have any ideas what I can check or do, that would be greatly appreciated.
