Question convert from 64 bit centos 5.5 OS to 32 bit centos 5.5 OS


hello there,

i have a vps server & i want to install kloxo control panel on it,

but the OS installed on the vps is CentOS 5.5 64 bit while kloxo to be installed

it need a 32 bit OS as the installation guide say

now how to convert from 64 bit to 32 bit CentOS OS ??

could i install centos 5.5 i386 release rpm then restart the vps server & execute

I don't think you can convert an OS to 32 bit just like that. You need to reinstall the operating system entirely.

Yes a full reinstall will be needed. If you need to do this then your best option is to do a backup of any data and configurations, reinstall using the 32bit version and then restore.

Actually a std RHEL/Centos 64 bit install includes 32 bit libs also, as not all SW is avail in 64 bits versions. There should be no need to downgrade the OS.
