Connecting windows 7 client to samba PDC

I'm going crazy... change the 2 registry setttings according to the windows 7 section on the samba website.

Keep getting the error:
"The specified domain name either does not exist or could not be contacted."

I've tried a million suggestions. I'm about to lose it.

I think I may need to purchase windows server. Every time I need to add a new computer, I go through this experience. I think I have it figured out, then the next time I have to perform some type of voodoo to get everything to work.

I tried disabling the firewall on both the Debian PDC and the Win 7 client.

BTW: One Win 7 client is a domain member with no problems... confusing, since this one should be identical...

The following from the nmbd log might be relevant:

Code:

[2012/11/24 16:38:21.985941,  3] nmbd/nmbd_processlogon.c:905(process_logon_packet)
process_logon_packet: processing delayed initial logon reply for client DATA6(192.168.1.103)

Did you try giving server Ip address instead of hostname ??
