Connecting thunderbird to webmin via POP3
I'm a newbie here but I have a question on how to make the connection between webmin and thunderbird via POP3. I have webmin set up and it is able to send and receive mail via webmin but when I enter the account details in thunderbird it cant find the settings for my mail account. I'm not exactly sure where I need to go in webmin to set it up to allow a connection from a client to allow the downloading of mail to the client. Would simply prefer to go to thunderbird to send and receive mail as opposed to logging into webmin then going to my mail. Any help would be appreciated as my searches online have been fruitless as far as results.

I read your post, and I'm a little confused as to what you are trying to do.
Generally, you do not need Webmin for mail, a regular mail account set up through your ISP. In Thunderbird, you just set it up to send and receive to and from the pop and smtp servers. I looked in Webmin on my system, and you can turn your linux system into a mail server, if you want or need to. However, you would need direct access to the systems that might want to send and receive mail. Does this help, or have I not understanding it is you need? |

Well, that is a little clearer. Sorry I can not help, have never used Dovecot. I hope some one with the knowledge see this, and helps.
