Configuring Sendmail to forward to different mail server

Hello all - I'm currently running a Fedora mail server in the example.com domain.

I've been asked to install an Exchange server and to start converting those users who want to use Outlook to the exchange server.

My exchange server is in the exchange.example.com domain. I have 60 out of 350 users that want to use Outlook with exchange.

How can I configure sendmail to forward those 60 users mail to the exchange server?

I've tried using the Alias file and I've moved my Fedora server resolv.conf to point to the exchange.example.com domain and I've had no luck.

I'm new to the email world as far as having to be the IT guy for this. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

What are you tring to do? you can pop emails with Outlook directly from your sendmail server (no need for exchange), but if for some reason you need the exchange server, then consider this:

Exchange has a setting which allows all outgoing mail to be forwarded to your sendmail gateway.
Now for your example.com domain, you should make a mailertable entry (/etc/mail/mailertable) for like this:

Quote:
@example.com SMTP:exchange.example.com
This way all inbound mail would be forwarded to your exchange server.
If you want only certain users to use the exchange server, then use /etc/mail/virtusertable:

And make sure their mailboxes now reside on exchange server.
