cloning server, issue with udev 70-persistent-network

Hi

I already cloned server with linux kernel 2.6.
And after that I observed that my network cards have different aliases.
In goldenimage server there was eth0, eth1, eth2 and after cloning
on target server I have eth3,eth4,eth5.

I know that I have to change aliases in udev (file 70-persistent-net.rules) but is ther a way to do this automatically ?

Best regards

I found very usefull knowhow on this page http://www.reactivated.net/writing_udev_rules.html

It looks like there is no way for automatically trigger rescan of changes in hardware and populating it into udev.
