TEE HEE I figured it out Lots of reading.... So here it goes. Look at the man pages to verify my summaries.

user - command is needed to overide defaults you can not provide a uid=xxx without it it will be disregarded.
suid - command is needed to overide defaults you can not provide a uid, gid, without it it will be disregarded.
added _netdev because it was not mounting on boot.
so here is my line in fstab

[code]//192.168.0.6/d /mnt/media-pc-d cifs credentials=/home/ep/.smbcred,user,suid,gid=wheel,rw,_netdev 0 0[\code]

resummarize/ further discuss user command defaults/ or implied commands are noexec, nosuid, nodev, nouser is default option as well.

so suid by itself would not have worked.... I tried it...

noexec is fine if I need to do that most likely I would want it on the box itself first.
nodev is fine as well its a windows share there are not any character or block special devices.
nosuid do not allow uid,gid options
nouser forbid an ordinary user to mount

Interesting that it would let me mount when not setting user but that would be a discussion for bigger heads than mine.

Thank you everyone for the help I hope this stays in the forum for others.
