Centos 6 Log file entries
 
I am running a Centos 6 server that allow student to ssh in from the outside world. I am not having issues with the server but noticed hundreds of entries. Below is a example of the different varations. Can some explain what i am seeing and why it is logging it. I have replaced the server name with server and the user names with xxxx, yyyy, and zzzz. each group of letters refering to a specific user.

Type 1:

Jul 2 21:48:55 server nslcd[25438]: [dd6690] ldap_result() failed: Invalid DN syntax
Jul 2 21:48:55 server nslcd[25438]: [dd6690] lookup of user xxxx failed: Invalid DN syntax
Jul 2 21:48:55 server nslcd[25438]: [dd6690] ldap_explode_dn(yyyy) returned NULL: Success
Jul 2 21:48:55 server nslcd[25438]: [dd6690] ldap_result() failed: Invalid DN syntax
Jul 2 21:48:55 server nslcd[25438]: [dd6690] lookup of user yyyy failed: Invalid DN syntax
Jul 2 21:48:55 server nslcd[25438]: [dd6690] ldap_explode_dn(zzzz) returned NULL: Success
Jul 2 21:48:55 server nslcd[25438]: [dd6690] ldap_result() failed: Invalid DN syntax
Jul 2 21:48:55 server nslcd[25438]: [dd6690] lookup of user zzzz failed: Invalid DN syntax

Type 2:

Jul 2 21:48:55 server nslcd[25438]: [fb5c5b] ldap_explode_dn(user) returned NULL: Success
Jul 2 21:48:55 server nslcd[25438]: [fb5c5b] ldap_explode_dn(user) returned NULL: Success

You're trying to authenticate logins against an Active Directory services and it's not configured properly would be my first guess.

I do have a active directory that i am moving too but this server is not able to see it. It is using openldap for authenication.
