I am a new linux user and right now I have Fedora installed in hopes to run some game servers on there but so far no one can connect to the server - i even tried TeamSpeak which is much simpler but the same problem there - cannot connect - i have no idea what I am doing wrong but i know it has to do with my internet configuration since the game servers and teamspeak servers both run fine - i have a linksys router and I Have forwarded ports - extra help would be appreciated
well it doesn't even work on lan because i cant connect through my laptop and how would I check fedora's firewall? im not too familiar with it since i just started out - thanks for the help
i have used it on windows before on my regular pc - worked fine but dont know how to get it to work on linux for some reason
Open a terminal window (aka xterm) on the Linux box as root and type
iptables -L
and show us the output
ok i have to try that tomorrow, turned off the machine a few hours ago since there was no point - im going to bed - i'll post results tomorrow - thanks!
i actually got it working, i just shut off the firewall and fixed the static IP - i still have to set up stuff before letting people connect publicly - thanks for the help
