Cannot change password in Windows XP using Samba as a PDC

I'm having an issue changing passwords from within Windows XP for any domain user account. I'm running Samba (3.0.24-7) as a PDC on top of Fedora Core 5. I'm using Ctrl + Alt + Del > Change Password method to try to change the password. There is an error message, but it produces little search results (at least from what I've found) that are relevant. Some point to a Windows Critical update, but I don't see how to correct it or get around it. Here is the error message, hopefully someone has seen this before...

"The system cannot change your password now because the domain <domain> is not available."

Any suggestions are welcome, because I'm going nuts! Thanks in advance!

Removing WINS support fixed it, I think...

I don't have a lookup order set and I don't have anything in my LMHOSTS file besides localhost. Could this (WINS Support) possibly have caused my issue?
