Can I install Squid server


Hello everyone,

I just want to ask that can I install squid server for max. 20 clients in a simple machine that has the following configuration,

Processor=Dual core
Memory= 1GB
Hard Disk=160GB
Can I do it or should upgrade my hardware devices....

if it's not doing much else, sure, it'll probably be fine.

I just want to keep track of the amount of internet used by peoples and just block some websites.

Then you also need to install Sarg (for reporting), and dansguardian (for blocking of any serious nature, unless you want to manually set up ACL's).

Since both Squid and Linux are free, and you've already got the machine, why don't you just install it and try???.
