I have a fully configured Apache server running on an Ubuntu 7.04 (I think, the newest one). It works perfectly on my home network when I type in the IP address. How do I get to it on the web?
Distribution: Ubuntu, Debian, Various using VMWare

Welcome to LQ!
You will need to forward port 80 from your modem / router to your Linux box. Then allow connections on port 80 through your firewall on your Linux box (if you have one set up). Then point a browser to your public IP address and your page should load.
If you are unlucky enough to have a dynamic IP address, you will need to set up a dynamic DNS service like dyndns so you don't need to find your IP each time it changes.
Thank you. But what IP address do I use? Would I use the same address I use at home, or is that just my address for my home network? Also, how do I access it via http://SOMETHING.com or www.SOMETHING.com

whatismyip.com will tell you your public IP address. then as IBall said, either point your browser directly to that IP, or sign up at somewhere like dyndns.com. i've been using dyndns.com for a couple of years without ever any problem, so i also would recommend them.
