hi,

you can block it with the help of squid daemon

1. install your squid package
2. vi /etc/squid.conf
here make a acl

it will work, be sure your deny acl should be in pereference as with your allow acl.

Welcome!!

You'll need to tell what exactly you tried---and what exactly happened.

This is not my area, but have you looked at iptables?

deny facebook.com domain and ip addresses

I guess you have to deny facebook.com domain and all their ip addresses to. In some cases kids can go around a denied domain if they write ip address instead of domain name in browsers URL field.

Maybe, if you provide some actual details. What version/distro of Linux are you using? What software? How many people, running what on their workstations? How are they connecting to the Internet now? Saying "i have tried...but it wont work", gives us nothing to go on.

I suggest loading Squid as a proxy server. It has many configuration examples, on how to block certain websites, and should be easy to set up.
