Block downloading email attachments on mobiles

Hi

Do you know any way to block downloading email attachments on mobiles. I'm looking for a feature similar to what you can do on Exchange using Activesync, so that people can check their office email on their mobiles but cannot download attachments there. They can only view attachments on their office PC's.

I'm using Postfix with Dovecot for imap/pop3 access, but I will be happy with any other pop/imap server that would allow me to restrict access to attachments either by IP or some other way eg additional password , so that people can only access them on their office machines.

Thanks

Greg

Use a client with that functionality.
Or set up a separate mailbox for mobile clients and don't forward mails with attachments to it.

I use K-9 mail.

It asks permission before downloaded an attachment, a large email (I've never bothered to check what the threshold is), or embedded images.

Thanks for your input, but these solutions don't really work for me.
Separate mailbox is not an option, my users should be able to see all emails coming if they are away from their desks.

Not able to control what clients they use on their mobiles. Too many people to check on. I also use K-9, but I can't rely on them not downloading attachments either. Some of these attachments may contain sensitive data, so if the mobile is lost or stolen the data may be leaked. I am looking for a solution that will not allow downloading attachments on the server side, either by client IP ( you can only download using office IP ) or some other criteria like device type or an authorized key which must be installed on a device allowed to download attachments. Company laptops are encrypted and our mail transit is also encrypted, so the only weakness if when someone downloads something to their own mobile device.

Thanks

Greg
