Best Kernel version/configuration for this hardware

Hello,

I have a server with the new Intel i7 processors and the new disks: SSD with 6GB DDR3 RAM... The thing is I've installed last CentOS but I've changed the kernel to 1000HZ, but the thing is I was reading that there's better kernels for this new processors i7 since it's different from the habitual C2D or C2Q but don't know what to do...

So any recommandation? What's the best kernel, best config, HT on/off. And about the disks? Any special configuration? I'm getting a 15GB/s reading, I think that's enough and the normal for this disks but about the performance I need it good because I'm using this server to run gameservers.

I'll wait an answer from an expert.

Thanks,
Marco Silva.

I guess you can find the right kernel by google?
I think there is file you set the MHz or speed and I have heard the lower the safer?

I've tried google but nothing there...

I'm asking to an expert directly, that's why I've posted here
