Automatic Copy - Paste

Hello all,

i would like to create a script, where it would transfer some files from my linux server, to a windows server in a specific directory automatically, every 1 hour.

More precise, i would like to create every recoring file, which start with the word "Hey" and transfer it to my windows server on a path with ip 192.168.1.6/C/audiofiles.

Can someone help me with that?

Cheers,
Leo

Did you try anything so far yourself?

You can try protocol like samba or cifs. But I am not sure how to automate it.

1. as hinted above, you could create a Samba share, in which case you'd create the files in the share and no copying is required.

2. Alternately, use the cron tool for automation http://www.adminschoice.com/crontab-quick-reference
Use scp or sftp (part of the ssh toolset) for the copying and create ssh auth-keys so you don't need to put passwds into a script.http://www.linuxtopia.org/online_boo...erate-keypairs

you can mount the windows shared folder on Linux and copy (cp/rsync) the files.
Write a simple shell script and run a cronjob.

Hello all,

Thank you for your replies so far.
The problem is that i am not a programmer, so i don't know how to create the script.

So if someone could create it for me, i would be great full!
Cheers,
Leo
