Application Fails to Get Lock on a File
 

Hello,

I'm trying to configure this application (Geolog6) after installing it on a Redhat 5.8 OS, and in the process I'm getting the following error message:

16-Dec-2013 14:30:37 pgdb (25141:Error) failed to get lock on: /data/lad1700/DEX_SUB/Geolog6/TEST671/wells/paradigm.well
16-Dec-2013 14:30:43 pgdb (25141:Error) failed to get lock on: /data/lad1700/DEX_SUB/Geolog6/TEST671/wells/paradigm.well
16-Dec-2013 14:30:49 pgdb (25141:Error) failed to get lock on: /data/lad1700/DEX_SUB/Geolog6/TEST671/wells/paradigm.well
16-Dec-2013 14:30:55 pgdb (25141:Error) failed to get lock on: /data/lad1700/DEX_SUB/Geolog6/TEST671/wells/paradigm.well

I belive this is some issue related to file locking at OS level, could you guys please help me on this issue?

As I see it your question is not about Linux in general or Red Hat Enterprise Linux but about Paradigm Geolog. This is commercially licensed, closed-source software. In my humble opinion the vendor should be responsible for answering any questions regarding its products and not any Linux or Open Source Software communities.
