Apache2 fails to start

Hi....When I try to start Apache2, I receive the following.....:

Starting web server: Apache2/usr/sbin/apache2: error while loading shared libraries: /usr/lib/libaprutil-0.so.0: invalid ELF header

I've tried restarting the server, still no luck.

Something is wrong with your APR libraries need it by apache, maybe missing or something similar.

How did u install apache?! From the package manager, or you build it yourself?

Yes, you should try that.

But first, make a backup of your config files and other extra files like, php/html.

Remove the current apache package and then install it again, should work, but you have to try.

Did u modified the configuration file for apache?!

If not, then you dont need to back it up. If you did then, I think you have to go:

cd /etc/
tar -czpvf apache_conf.tar.gz apache2/

and then if you want you could backup your html/php files too, but I dont know where you put them.

then:

apt-get remove --purge apache2
apt-get autoremove
apt-get install apache2
