Apache Web Routing "Front End" Does Not Route Correctly To WikiMedia Installation
I apologize that this question is a little vague. The question is really about how Apache returns URLs to a browser or an intermediate Apache server.
If I route to my MediaWiki installation directly http://MyWikiServer:900020, everything works fine.
However, I want another Apache server -- that serves as a "web router" to act as an internet front end to the wiki. This works for quite a few of our applications, but two things are happening with the Wiki which I don't understand.
1) The wiki's graphics are not being displayed correctly, and
2) Routes past the first page, which does display in text form, do not work; that is the links cannot be found.
What settings do I need to change -- and I'm assuming it's on the Wiki's server -- to return full URLs?
Thank you for your thoughts.
I have a related issue with a DokuWiki installation. Since I installed it locally and configured all the url's to "localhost" instead of the network name, nothing but the front page is accessible on any other machines. I think you'll have to reconfigure the WikiMedia installation through your proxy machine to change the urls.
This sounds right
I'll go try this.
Nothing's on the Wiki yet, so I can blast it away and reinstall it.
There must be more to the reconfiguring this. I changed to the external server name, but got the same result.
You didn't give much details, but I guess you're trying to run the wiki server behind an apache reverse proxy.
If that's the case, take a look here for instructions
It is a proxy
After looking at the logs on the proxy, it appears I'm going to have to write or have written a Perl remapper, which we have to do for a donation application.
The proxy is the one complaining, and rightfully so, because it's dealing with local directory information for things like skins.
After looking at your link, this appears to be exactly what I was looking for. I'll get back to this post after moving ahead with this information. Thanks.
