Question Apache 1.3 - .php file ain't parsed, only text

Hey there folks! I'm running Apache 1.3 and PHP5 on a SLED 10. I set the index path to localhost, port 80. Apache is started under «root».
The thing is when i connect to the server through the browser, it only displays the content of the file. It won't be asked to download but it won't be parsed either.

Thanks in advance. It will be of great importance if you help me. You can refer to other topics as well, as long as it has the answer i want

Did you actually tell Apache to parse the file as php?
Kill apache, and add this to httpd.conf in the AddType section (about line 290 in mine):
Code:
AddType Application/x-httpd-php .php
And make sure it has the LoadModule directive for php too -
Code:
LoadModule php5_module modules/libphp5.so
That probably will be there.

Ok, so it's done I changed the DirectoryIndex and added the "index.php" field after the default one. Thanks
