Alternative to Microsoft Exchange?

Hi All!

Can anyone tell me if there's an alternative to Microsoft's Exchange. I have some Window's boxes and I would like to set up an Ubuntu server and allow other ubuntu machines to use evolution while windows uses outlook. I'm interested in storing my emails, contacts, todo's and appointments on the server, so i can log in from any client and see my own profile.

Thanks!

Note that I've never used any of them...
